SAROL

This Monday we had the privilege of attending SAROL – the Salvation Army Retired Officer League. This was a highly anticipated and encouraging day for all. It was really great to meet people that have gone before us in the mission field of the USA and overseas, and who are still engaged in evangelism and outreach today! It was great to hear brief, yet deeply encouraging stories about their days as corps officers, dc’s, dys’, and soldiers in the Salvation Army.

One quality that I noticed was that they each had their own personal ‘fire’ inside! The stories they told were about fighting for the Lord and winning souls for Jesus. I heard a couple stories about hard times, but each time these tales were told, they were told to glorify the cleansing work of Jesus Christ. I am sure they had many times in their past when they felt tired, exhausted, and possibly even burned out. However, they all seemed to find some fresh logs to put on the fire to keep burning for such a long time!

I had a great day and was encouraged immensely!
